Who We Are

   Unlike many, we can proudly say that we’ve offered quality services throughout Napa Valley for five generations. In 1949, our company was founded by Dave McLean who offered drilling services to our customers with well location found through witching; skillfully done by Uncle Les. Once of age, his son Harold McLean worked alongside him learning the trait and becoming immersed in the industry. As Harold’s passion for the water well industry grew, so did our company as we introduced our pump department. Due to declining health, Dave handed his rankings to Harold making him the sole owner of McLean & Williams, Inc. in the 1960s. As the demand for water well services grew in the Valley, Harold saw a clear opportunity to prosper, but knew he couldn’t do it alone; little did he know our company’s dynamics would change for the better.

   In the early 1970’s, Harold McLean offered O.D. and Judy Williams a partnership; giving them the opportunity to one day own the company. With the entrance of O.D. and Judy, our company not only became incorporated in 1979, but also were influential in local and state water well regulations. Throughout their time in the company, O.D. and Judy were actively involved in the California Ground Water Association (CGA). As an active member of the CGA, O.D. worked his way into the Presidential chair where he worked alongside other board members in creating standards and regulations locally and statewide. With women increasingly entering the water well industry, Judy found herself in the President position of the California Women’s Groundwater Association. After having worked her way through The Board rankings, Judy helped women find their place in the industry. With her parents introducing her to the water well industry in 1973, Sherry Salinas, O.D. and Judy’s daughter, found her love not only for the environment her parents created, but for the industry itself.  In the 1980’s O.D. and Judy became sole owners of the company.

   As O.D.’s health began to decline, the decision to transition the company into a new generation was made. In 1995, Sherry and Gonzalo Salinas became sole owners of McLean & Williams, Inc. With the new owner transition underway, Sherry & Gonzalo worked diligently at maintaining and building new customer relationships. With yet another opportunity to grow, Sherry & Gonzalo expanded our company’s customer base to service not only residential properties, but agricultural and commercial. Though our company has always served these industry segments, Sherry and Gonzalo rapidly grew our agricultural and commercial customer base. With the accomplishment of customer growth, Gonzalo and Sherry incorporated a new drill rig and six supporting vehicles. With new fleet additions, our company has been able to drill water wells and install pumping systems quicker and more efficiently, using some of the best technology in the water well industry.

   Today, our company has begun yet another ownership transition to our first sibling ran generation; our fifth generation. Shane Ragan & Katie Salinas have brought new ideas, techniques, and technologies to our company. With the entrance of Shane and Katie, our company has effectively introduced customized water systems with one of a kind plat forms, mounts, and much more. In addition, our company has seen an increase in updated technologies that allow our crews and staff members to be more prepared for any challenging task.

   Throughout the last five generations, our company has increasingly grown into an honest, fair, and reliable company who truly cares about not only their team, but their customers. Our generations have worked extremely hard at building a reputation that allows customers the comfort of knowing who to call when it comes to their water well needs. Today, our customers rate us highest in quality and helpful expertise; making us the first Diamond Certified water well and pump company in Napa County. ​

Sherry Salinas

Sherry is the daughter of
​ McLean & Williams, Inc.'s third generation owners; O.D. and Judy Williams. Sherry has worked with the company for over 35 years; she can be found in the office helping customers, pulling permits and much more. With her kind heart, Sherry is passionate about building and maintaining strong relationships with each of our customers. 

Gonzalo Salinas
4th Generation​
​Owner

Gonzalo is the husband of Sherry. He found his love for the water well industry in his early 20s . He works along side customers during all phases of drilling, pump installation & repair. With the combination of determination, knowledge and decades of experience, Gonzalo will be able to help you with even the most challenging of water systems.

Shane Ragan
5th Generation
Field Manager

Shane has worked in the company since the age of 14. He personally works with customers in designing, installing and maintaining their water well systems. If you're looking for someone who can truly customize you water system, Shane's creativity is your answer. 

Katie Salinas
5th Generation

Katie began her journey with the company at 16 years old. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, she now oversees the daily operations of our office, bringing fresh and more efficient approaches to the team.
